The legacy of former Oregon Governor Kate Brown is that she wanted to electrify everything while simultaneously supporting a ban on fossil fuels that power the grid. We can’t do both of those things simultaneously, so Oregon is headed towards an electricity deficit as soon as 2024.

Cascade Policy Institute President and CEO John A. Charles, Jr. will discuss in simple terms how the grid operates, current sources of electricity, and why the mandated political vision of “wind, solar and batteries” won’t work.

Admission is free, but reservations are required due to space limitations. You are welcome to bring your own lunch; light refreshments will be served.
