Ban styrofoam, ban Bisphenol-A, ban plastic bags, ban phosphate dishwashing detergents, ban coal. What else can we ban. That represents the typical mantra for environmental groups and activists these days, lioresal information. Their only method of effecting change is to use government force to take choice from citizens. Lioresal malaysia, Environmental groups are now forcefully targeting plastic bags. Groups like the Tualatin Riverkeepers, Environment Oregon and the Audubon society have said that these bags end up in the ocean, take too long to break down and are just all-around unhealthy for the environment, buy lioresal without prescription. Their solution. Lobby government along with self-interested paper companies to eliminate this choice entirely for consumers and retailers, lioresal discount.

Unfortunately for activists and the paper companies, Lioresal cheapest price, the “unhealthy for the environment” claim is more than misguided. It is false. Buy lioresal without prescription, A single paper bag takes over twice the energy to produce than a single plastic bag. This definitely conflicts with environmentalist goals of reducing energy use, lioresal buy drug. Comparing entire life cycles, Cheap lioresal without prescription, one paper bag produces almost five times the atmospheric pollutants and 15 times the waterborne pollutants than a single plastic bag. This was the major reason why plastic bags were developed?to improve the environment. Besides, tablet lioresal, the same environmentalists are working on locking up every acre of forested land, Lioresal without prescription, which is directly contrary to their indirect promotion of paper bags. After all, paper comes from forests, buy lioresal without prescription.

What about these bags ending up in the streets. And the ocean, order discount lioresal online. Environmentalists have misdiagnosed the problem. Lioresal side effects, The problem is not that plastic bags exist but that they are not ending up in the proper place?landfills, trashcans, etc, lioresal from india. Buy lioresal without prescription, The problem is littering, yet the only solution proposed is an outright ban.

“But these bags do not break down!” the ban advocates say. Order lioresal in canada, Luckily, bags are recyclable at local grocery stores and a variety of other places across the state. In addition, order discount lioresal, households often reuse and “recycle” these bags by finding a multitude of uses in and around the home. Buy lioresal overnight delivery, The argument doesn’t make much sense anyhow. Plastic doesn’t just exist in bags, buy lioresal without prescription. It is in a whole host of products that the world consumes. What’s next, lioresal from canada. Banning all plastic on earth. Price of lioresal, It is unfortunate that supposedly well-intentioned advocacy organizations put all their efforts into outright consumer bans. Buy lioresal without prescription, These organizations could work towards creating public awareness of a perceived problem and organizing a grassroots movement to use alternatives voluntarily. The only way to effect meaningful change is to change culture, which requires voluntarily winning hearts and minds, buy lioresal lowest price. Unlike making regulatory changes, Lioresal medication, this genuinely can help the environment, while preserving choice and freedom that we so value in this country. Instead, where to order lioresal, environmental organizations get involved with special interest lobbyists (paper bag manufacturers) to eliminate consumer choice. Lioresal no rx required, But perhaps this is an easier route for the anti-plastic crowd. Perhaps their science and environmental arguments aren’t sound, so the only solution is to “hire” self-interested corporations and self-promoting politicians to force citizens to believe in their quest for irrational environmental policy.

Good account of what the real world environment. It is education that is required, Recycle Reuse and dispose of properly.
The radical environmentalists seem to knee jerk most issues, will lie and use outdated information with scare tactics, with old pictures to induce empathy, and passion. Research the issue and discover the truth as Todd has done, if you are not convinced, then check it out for yourself. There is no Texas size Island of plastic!

    Hey Todd,
Returned from a Town Hall on the issue of banning the single use plastic bags. This is not about climate change or Agenda 21. Banning their use may be the only solution. I do not like the idea, but there is a major problem with these specific bags. They are not recycled, they clog up the recycle machines, they are ending up in our rivers and Oceans.
They do not decompose, but break down into pieces, fish are eating this stuff, animals are suffering at our expense. The cost to consumers will not be to great, and here in Oregon it may be a blessing as we have trees that can be made into paper, jobs maybe! I can reflect back when we did not have plastic bags and only paper. This is an adjustment we will have to make. Now where did I put that tote bag? CG912

Ah haaaaa, something just did not feel right, here is the problem

Plastic grocery bags were introduced thirty years ago. If plastic bags are such a huge problem for marine mammals and seabirds as the anti-plastic bag activists maintain, then there would be thousands of photographs by now.
The site posted, will give some second thoughts to re-thinking a ban.

Great article Todd! My issue with the movement to ban plastic bags is with their ideology. Plastic bags today, what next? As you alluded to, the anti-plastic bag movement would be better served to educate the public and change the culture. Their current campaign is doing a disservice to their cause by encouraging freedom loving people to answer the question at the grocery store, “would you like paper or plastic?” with an emphatic PLASTIC PLEASE!

Todd, your ignorance far outweighs your cognitive reasoning skills.
The crazy environmentalists are not advocating replacing plastic with paper.
They are advocating bio-degradable bags. You conveniently forgot to mention that
    issue here.

Bio bags would actually help the environment and create more jobs in America.
As many countries have banned the bag and replaced with bio-bags, they have
seen far less litter issues and have a greatly reduced landfill toxicity issue.

Countries that have banned: Australia, Bangladesh, Ireland, Italy, South Africa
Taiwan. Mumbai. Actually, most of the EU uses bio-bags.
